BlindShades.pro is an independent buying guide for window treatments — blinds, shades, shutters, and everything in between. We are not a retailer. We do not carry inventory. We do not take money from manufacturers to promote their products.
We are a small team of home improvement industry veterans who got tired of watching homeowners spend hundreds — sometimes thousands — of dollars on the wrong window treatments. Overpaying for features they do not need. Underbuying on quality for windows where it matters most. Installing treatments that fail in two years because no one warned them about moisture, UV, or the wrong material for the room.
We built BlindShades.pro to fix that.
The Story Behind BlindShades.pro

I spent 30 years in the home improvement industry. The first decade working inside it — on the supply chain, in showrooms, with contractors, and directly with the manufacturers whose products ended up in American homes. The next two decades consulting — helping builders, interior designers, and property managers specify the right window treatments at the right price for thousands of windows across the country.
In all that time, one thing never changed: the average homeowner walking into a showroom or landing on a retailer’s website had no idea what they were looking at. They were choosing window treatments based on colour and price — the two factors that matter least for long-term satisfaction.
They did not know that “blackout” on a label only means the fabric — not the gaps at the sides and top. They did not know that cellular shades should never go in a kitchen. They did not know that real wood blinds installed over a kitchen sink would warp within two years. They did not know that a solar shade that gives privacy during the day becomes completely transparent at night.
Nobody told them. The retailers certainly were not volunteering the information — it would cost them a sale.
In 2026, after 30 years of watching this happen, I started BlindShades.pro with a simple mandate: tell buyers the truth that the retailers do not.
What We Actually Do
We test, research, and write. Every buying guide and supporting article on BlindShades.pro is researched against the top competitor content on the subject — we specifically look for what other guides miss, understate, or get wrong — and we make sure our article fills those gaps.

If the correct answer is frosted static-cling film at $15 rather than a $200 motorized shade, we will tell you that.

He began his career on the supply side — working directly with manufacturers of blinds, shades, and shutters across the USA — before moving into consulting for builders, interior designers, and commercial property managers.
His expertise covers:
